Concept Development

Using all the information gathered up to this point,  it’s at this stage that the creativity really starts and the concept for your design emerges.

I begin by putting together inspirational mood boards using photographs to give an early insight into the visual direction of a design. Sometimes one mood board is produced for a whole garden but typically individual mood boards are created for specific areas of a garden.  Mood boards can relate to the overall design, themes, colours or styles but they can also be a useful tool for discussion regarding choices of materials, planting or special features.

In addition, I create 3D visuals to enable you to see and approve specific areas of the garden.  Sometimes I prepare hand drawn sketches. Typically I like to use design software to produce a 3D model so you can see what my design ideas would look like from various points in the garden and house.
